3. **Predict**: With a comprehensive understanding of behavior and mental processes, psychologists  aim to anticipate how individuals will act in specific situations. By recognizing patterns, they can

 forecast future behaviors or outcomes, such as the ways stress may lead to particular health issues or how an individual might respond to treatment.
