  THIS IS MY FIRST DAY LEARNING ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY AND WRITE WHAT I LEARN

 The brain is the source of mental life and so damage to the can have profound effects on who we are and what we are.

Dualism is an idea that is been found in just about every religion and every philosophy.

Dualism is wrong, dualism does not answer important questions.

Manifestation of dualism: you could believe in intelligent beings without bodies.

If mind and body are separate it raises the possibility you could have one without the other you have to have bodies without minds.

Neurons are cells that transmit information. There are a lot of them - some estimates say there are 100 billion. However, estimates vary widely. Each neuron connects to thousands, maybe even tens of 

thousands, of other neurons.

Neurons come in three flavors: sensory neurons, motor neurons, . Sensory neurons transmit signals

 from the body to the brain, allowing you to feel things like pain or heat. Motor neurons carry signals from the brain to the muscles, enabling you to move and react to stimuli. Finally, interneurons connect different neurons without directly interacting with the external world.

It has long been known that there is a

 difference between the right and left sides of the

 body. Most people are right-handed, meaning they have better motor control and writing ability with

 their right hand. A minority of people are left-

handed, and some are evenly mixed. Right-handed individuals typically have language functions concentrated in the left half of their brain, while left-handed individuals are more evenly mixed. The left brain is associated with written and spoken language, reasoning, logic, and science, while the right brain is associated with insight, imagination, and music. Normally, these two halves of the brain work together in coordination
