DAY 10
THIS IS MY TENTH DAY LEARNING ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY AND WRITE WHAT I LEARN
The Perspectives Of Psychology
Structuralism and functionalism have paved the way for exciting
approaches in psychology, each grounded in a shared understanding
of human nature and study methods.
**Behavioral Perspective:** Emerging in the 1910s and
1920s with John Broadus Watson and gaining prominence
through B.F. Skinner in the 1930s and 1940s, this approach
focuses on observable behaviors and the influence of the
environment.
**Psychodynamic Perspective:** Developed by Sigmund Freud in the early 1900s, this perspective emphasizes the unconscious mind and early experiences. It has inspired numerous theories, including those of Carl Jung, Alfred Adler, and Erik Erikson.
**Humanistic Perspective:** Emerging in the 1950s and 1960s as a reaction to behaviorism and psychoanalysis, this approach focuses on personal growth and self-actualization, championed by Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow.
**Cognitive Perspective:** Gaining traction in the 1950s and 1960s, this perspective examines how we think and process information, with key figures like Jean Piaget and Aaron Beck.
Each of these perspectives contributes uniquely to our understanding of psychology!
